elizabeth duffin

BSc (Hons) Exercise Physiology & Nutrition, BOst Osteopathy, MSc Osteopathic Sports Care | GOsC registration number: 5882

| 21 years of experience

I graduated from the British School of Osteopathy (now University College of Osteopathy) in 2005 and I’ve been practicing in Sussex & Surrey ever since. Treating patients of all ages from babies to senior citizens, and everyone in between.

Osteopathy is very much a hands-on profession, where we examine and treat mostly with our hands. I use a combination of hands-on treatment, movement testing and exercise prescription to allow people to be part of their own recovery process, this allows them to realise how well their body can work and that simple exercises done well can have a huge impact on their recovery. The way we work means that we give individualised advice to make sure everyone gets an appointment unique to their particular problem.

Mia Lorrien Ivey

Master of Chiropractic (McTimoney Chiropractic College) | GCC registration number: 06221 | 2 years of experience

Mia earned her Master’s in Chiropractic in 2024 from McTimoney Chiropractic College, accredited by Ulster University.

An accomplished equestrian from a young age, Mia’s passion for chiropractic was sparked through her own experiences with treatment for riding-related injuries. By age 10, she had already developed a strong appreciation for the discipline and its impact on performance and recovery. Alongside her equestrian pursuits, Mia competed in a variety of sports, which further shaped her interest in sports injury management and athlete care. Today, she is driven by the ambition to work with internationally recognised teams and athletes, helping them achieve peak performance and longevity in their careers.

Expertise

During her studies at McTimoney, Mia consistently sought to challenge traditional approaches to chiropractic care, refining her perspective as she prepared to enter professional practice. Since qualifying, she has honed her expertise in holistic treatment through the McTimoney technique — stimulating the nervous system to support optimal alignment, mobility, and performance across the body.

Mia integrates soft tissue therapy into her sessions, recognising the vital connection between the nervous system, muscular structure, and joints. Her athlete-centered approach focuses on restoring movement, building strength, and enhancing resilience, enabling clients to return to training and competition with confidence.

Her philosophy is rooted in performance optimisation and long-term well-being, ensuring athletes not only recover from injury but also elevate their physical capabilities.

Professional Development

Committed to continuous growth, Mia actively pursues ongoing research and advanced education to expand her skill set. She strives to deliver evidence-based, high-quality care that supports athletes in achieving measurable results — whether that’s faster recovery, improved strength, or enhanced performance on the field.

Kayleigh Cooke

Sports Massage Therapist

Kayleigh earned her Sports Massage Diploma in early 2025 and has since gained valuable hands-on experience working with a wide range of sportspeople, including members of the GB Downhill Mountain Bike team.

She is currently in her final year of studying Sports Therapy at the University of Roehampton, where she continues to develop her clinical skills and keep up with current research across a range of areas within the field.

A keen mountain biker herself, Kayleigh’s passion for sports therapy and massage developed through her own experiences of injury and rehabilitation, as well as seeing first-hand the demands of high-level sport.

Her approach goes beyond simply treating aches and pains. She takes the time to understand each person, including their lifestyle, training and goals, so she can address the root of the problem and support long-term results.

Masters degree in Osteopathic Sports Care

As an Osteopath, I think it is important to educate people to understand their bodies and why they might be in pain, so it’s less about me ‘fixing’ someone and more about working with someone to make them better and allow them to help themselves.

There are a variety of issues we can help with. For example, people will often mention another ache or pain during their treatment, maybe their foot hurts, but they often think that we ‘only do backs’, however, we actually treat the whole body, which is why I can say ‘let’s have a look at that too. I think I might be able to help’. Above all, everyone is an individual, like a new puzzle to figure out, and seeing people get better and go on to achieve the goal they set themselves at the start of their treatment, really is a privilege!

I’ve been an (amateur) athlete for over 30 years and regularly coach athletics, which helps to explain why I have a specialist interest in sports injuries, and in 2011 I completed my MSc in Osteopathic Sports Care, which led to a role in the medical team at the London 2012 Olympics & at the recent Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games. I’ve worked with a huge variety of sportspeople, for example from:

  • Motor racing
  • Horse riding
  • Rugby
  • Football
  • Hockey
  • Track & field athletics

In addition, I’ve also trained in Strength & Conditioning, and done many additional courses on rehabilitation, movement skills, and several Kinesiology Taping courses with ROCKTape, the leading sports tape brand, and have qualified as a ‘Rock Doc’ I find this skill really useful with all sorts of injuries, not just sports ones.

I’m registered with the General Osteopathic Council  (reg no. 5882), a member of the Institute of Osteopathy and the Osteopathic Sports Care Association. I’m also registered with the majority of health insurance providers in the UK. Unfortunately, it is no longer viable to accept BUPA patients at the clinic (except for BUPA Global healthcare).
